The Russian version (/terms) is the primary one; this translation is provided for non-Russian readers.

Revision of 15 October 2026. The vpvd service (website, browser extension and Telegram bot) is provided by a private individual ("we"). By using the service you accept these terms, the Discussion Rules and the Privacy Policy.

1. What vpvd is

vpvd adds discussions on top of any web page. You paste a link, and the page gets a comment thread. The thread lives with us, not on the original website: the website does not have to set anything up, and we publish nothing on it on your behalf.

We are not affiliated with the websites whose pages are discussed and do not speak for them. We do not store the text of other websites: a thread has only the page address and its title.

2. Account

  • You can read without an account. Permanent comments, votes and full-weight reports require one. Without an account you can post anonymous comments that disappear after 30 minutes.
  • You sign in with Telegram or with a one-time email link. You are responsible for the security of your Telegram and email.
  • You choose your display name. You may not impersonate another person, an outlet or vpvd.
  • One person, one account for voting. Using several accounts to inflate votes is a violation (Rules, item 1.6).
  • You must be at least 16 years old.
  • You can delete your account at any time (Privacy Policy, section 6).

3. Your comments

  • You keep the rights to the text of your comments.
  • By posting a comment you allow us, free of charge, to store it and show it in the thread, in the extension and bot, in search, and on social media cards linking to the thread: everything needed for the discussion to work. This permission is non-exclusive, worldwide, and lasts while the comment is published.
  • You are responsible for what you write. Do not post anything you have no rights to or that the Rules prohibit.
  • Edits are visible: previous versions are kept, and edit history is public.
  • A deleted comment disappears from view. If it has replies, a "deleted by author" placeholder stays in its place.

4. Quoting in digests

4.1. A public comment is a comment posted from an account in an open thread and visible to any visitor. Anonymous comments are not public in the sense of this section and are never quoted.

4.2. By posting a public comment you allow us, free of charge, to reproduce its text in full or in part in vpvd digests (for example, "best comments of the day") on the vpvd website and in official vpvd channels in messengers and on social networks. This permission is non-exclusive and worldwide.

4.3. When quoting, we:

  • show your display name and a link to the original;
  • reproduce the text verbatim, mark cuts ("…") and link to the full text; we do not change the meaning, add to the text or paraphrase it on your behalf;
  • do not quote comments that are hidden by moderation, deleted by their author or under review after a report.

4.4. You can forbid quoting of your comments at any time: "Settings → Do not quote my comments in digests". This takes effect immediately for digests not yet published, including ones already prepared. From digests already published we remove or replace the quote at your request within 5 business days wherever we can technically edit the publication.

4.5. Deleting a comment or your account has the same effect as the opt-out in 4.4 for those comments.

4.6. Quoting is allowed by default. This is stated at sign-up and in settings next to the toggle.

5. Moderation

We moderate discussions under the Rules: we collapse comments, hide them behind a placeholder, remove them, and temporarily restrict posting. We never rewrite anyone's text. We are not required to check every comment in advance, but we respond to reports within the times set out in the Rules.

6. Paid features

Some features may be paid (for example, a premium account with text formatting and stickers). The price, duration and refund terms are shown before payment. There are no paid features at the moment: payments are not connected. Payment and refund terms will be added to this section before we turn payments on. Paid features give no advantage in moderation and do not affect vote weight.

7. What you may not do with the service

  • Mass-create threads, comments, votes or accounts automatically.
  • Bypass limits, anti-spam protection or blocks.
  • Load the service so that it stops working for others, or look for and exploit vulnerabilities to cause harm. If you find a vulnerability, write to abuse@vpvd.io; we will be grateful.
  • Collect other users' data beyond what is openly shown in a thread.

8. Liability

The service is provided "as is". We try to keep it running without interruptions and to lose as little data as possible, but we do not promise this: backups are made daily, and anonymous comments are not included in them.

We are not responsible for the content of the pages being discussed or for users' comments until we are notified of a violation. Once we receive a report, we act under the Rules.

9. Termination

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may restrict or close an account for serious or repeated violations of the Rules, and we will tell you the reason. If we decide to shut down the service, we will announce it on the website at least 30 days in advance.

10. Changes to the terms and governing law

Material changes are published on this page at least 14 days before they take effect. These terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands.

11. Contact

Operator: a private individual. There are two addresses on the vpvd.io domain:

  • privacy@vpvd.io: questions about your data and about these terms;
  • abuse@vpvd.io: violations of the Rules, notices of illegal content, rights holders' claims, requests from public authorities, vulnerability reports.

abuse@vpvd.io is also the point of contact for users and EU authorities under Articles 11–12 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 on digital services (DSA).
